Raspberry Suite Color Challenge #2

*** Edit: Wow, now that's a surprise! This very card below is in the Wednesday spotlight of October Afternoon :-) ***

Hi, this is just a quick post (let's throw in the words "due term paper"...) to enter Dawn's second color challenge. Have I ever mentioned, how much I love her color choices? ;o) This week it is brown, teal, moss and white. I made a baby card for a friend who is due around the Easter weekend. Cutting around the leaves of the little tree took me forever, but I think it was worth the effort. You could easily replace the little deer with a bunny (same stamp set) for an Easter card.

Supplies
Stamps: October Afternoon Detours stamp set
Ink: Colorbox chestnut and dune, Heyda teal, Ranger distress tea dye
Paper: Bazzil white cardstock, moss green from stash
Other: Marvy Uchida scalloped circle punch 2", stapler, scissors, eyelet setter, sticky foam squares, Stabilo Fineliner teal, clear piece of plastic string, corner rounder (for the tag)

Caardvarks challenge

Hi All, I made a quick little card to accompany a birthday present for a party tonight. I found my inspiration at Caardvarks - through the blog of Terri E., who made a pretty card based on this sketch for the PTI blog hop. This is the first time I am using a Caardvarks sketch for a card and I love it. A clean and simple layout sketch that leaves you with so many possibilities. Here is my take on it - my first ever window card:
Okay, that's all for now. I need to get ready for the party :-)
Dana

* Maybe, you want to check out Terri's blog for some inspiration and a special goodie *wink*, too.

Supplies
Stamps: PTI Friends 'til the End
Ink: Versacolor orchid, Versacolor white
Paper: kraft, own birthday text pattern, transparency
Other: Making Memories Paperie rouge flowers and button, cutter knife, off-white satin ribbon, white Ancor twine

I don't know about you, but my best ideas spring to my mind when the deadline is over and so I kind of had the chance to play along Dawn's challenge again ;-)

This weeks color's were chocolate chip, tangerine tango, whisper white and so safron and here is my card:

Snow...

... so much for spring time: while it was snowing (!!) this morning, now the sun is shining bright. Feels like May when the sun comes in through the windows :-)

Mhm, I had a look at my card for Dawn McVeys first color inspiration again and suddently there was this idea for another card in my head. I even started watercoloring with some inks. Actually, I like this version so much better that I deleted the yesterday's challenge entry link. What's your opinion?

Stamp It! Week

Just sharing some links with you today...
  1. Have you checked out one of the latest Fancy Pants collection "On a Whimsy"? Yummy!! I've fallen in love with that paper collection and hope it will quickly find the way into one of my favorite scrap stores.
  2. Paper Craft's Magazine's creative editor Cath Evaldson has some great giveaways and card inspiration over at her blog to celebrate the Stamp It! Week.
  3. Do you love all things vintage? Mel has scanned in some pages of a vintage dictionary and offers it as a pdf for printout. She has also some great tutorials (e.g. on how to tea dye paper yourself), templates and handy tips.
Have a great and sunny day!

More 30est birthdays to come...

Hello everyone,
I liked that colorful paper flower from Wednesday so much, so I made another card in that style but a version much cleaner (no crackle paint and such). Kristina Werner's Color Inspiration #45

I guess, I got a color flash lately - maybe because I cannot wait for the sun of spring to flood my room early in the mornings. However, it was time to calm a bit down from the color overload and this week's challenge (black, grey, white) over at kwernerdesign was right up my alley. This was Kristina's inspiration:

... and here's my simple monochromatic card for the challenge:

This was a tough one! ...my finger's were itching to add some pink or yellow or turquoise or... ;o) Up to now, I don't know for what particular occasion the card will be. So, I will probably add a suitable little sentiment later.

Have a nice and sunny weekend!

Supplies
Ink: PTI True Black (for the little dot behind the flower)
Paper: white card stock, grey (actually from a Marc O'Polo catalogue), black/white "text pattern" (last university calender)
Others: MM Slice (Basics 2), white ribbon, bling brad

Wednesday, Wednesday...

I don't know what this is about weekdays... On Monday I thought it could already be Friday and now as we're getting closer to the weekend my thoughts go like "oh my,... half the week has gone with nothing finished..." ... but a card :-)
On Saturday, I will meet with some friends I bearly saw the last couple of month for the one or the other reason (when you think about it, you never no why, right?). One of the guys' girl friend turned 30 some days ago and we want to bring something along. She works for a flower boutique and so I couldn't resist to put a little paper flower together :-) The inside reads "Life is a piece of white paper. The colors are in yourself. Paint it colorful and bright." I thought it matches perfectly with the shabby chic style.

Have a good day today!
