Kristina's Color Inspiration # 50

Wow, it's almost a fortnight since I posted my last entry... Bad blogger, I am :-/ But really, I've been super busy! The new semester has just begun - chaotic as always - and at the weekend I visited my first stamping fair!! Nina and her friend Yoko invited my to join them for the "Stempelmesse Sued" around Stuttgart. It was real fun to meet somebody you only know a couple of days from blogger land. It's a shame we forgot to take photos of the three of us! At least, Nina took some pictures of our Alcohol Ink workshop (and she did definitively better than me, so I decided to better NOT take pictures of my own creations LOL). In the evening, I also had the chance to meet my "little" brother at a coffee bar of the Porsche Museum :) What a pitty that the museum had already closed by the time I arrived. Would have loved to have a look at those sexy sports cars.

Anyhow, you're here to have a look at my creation for Kristina Werner's jubilee challenge. Congrats Kristina! Here are the colors:
Yummy, I love turquoise right now!! The perfect summer color. So, my project for this challenge was a little gift for a colleague. Her birthday is on Thursday and I won't be at the office this day. Therefor, I will sneak in her office late on Wednesday and leave her a little bag filled with her favorite gummi bears together with a small enclosure card:
Sweet, huh? Love how the card fits perfectly into the bag! It's a plain white index card (4"x6") folded in half. Just the right size and paper weight.

Thanks for stopping by today and enjoy some sweetilicous treats yourself :-)

CPS #111

Hi, this is just to post my second try on a birthday card for my mum. It is based on the CPS sketch #111, but I altered it just a bit. Instead of having four layers underneath the top layer, I thought one of the beautiful Making Memories patterned papers from the Passport collection will do the job. Also, I had the chance to use my new custom made "Happy Birthday" stamp :) Love how it turned out! Now, here is the card:

Um, ... now that I see the photo on the blog, I think I have to work on the edges of the patterned paper again before giving the card away... Anyway, have a good week!

Supplies
Stamps: PTI Simply Stationary, birthday stamp (custom made)
Ink: Colorbox white
Paper: MM Passport collection, kraft and red cardstock from stash
Other: scalloped scissors, , MM slot punch, Depot cream satin ribbon, foam dimensionals

A Passion for Papertrey

... this is the name of new blog I stumbled across only three days ago. It was created by Steph and Kate for PTI addicts lovers in the UK and the rest of Europe to share PTI projects, inspiration, etc. So glad I found that blog and I instantly linked it on the sidebar!!

Every fortnight, they host a challenge and this week it is all about scallops - click here if you want to participate. Coincidentally, I just wanted to make a card for my mum's birthday and thought I'd play along :-)

Here is the card I made:

It's a case of one of Dawn McVey's cards for the Scattered Showers release. I don't have the Faux Ribbon stamp set for the background, so I tried to fake it by simply inking the edges of a ruler and my acrylic stamping block. I know, it is not half as good as Dawn's original card, but I like it nevertheless. (Maybe, just maybe, it is way too pink-ish for a "mum card"; will have to try another color tomorrow.)

Thanks for looking! ... and Happy Easter :-)

Supplies
Stamps: PTI Friends 'Til the End
Ink: Colorbox white
Paper: DP kraft, pink paper from stash
Other: PTI vintage buttons (cream), Hero Arts embossing poweder (white), acrylic block, ruler, organdy ribbon (white), corner rounder, Anchor twill (white), dimensional foam

Kristina's Color Inspiration # 49

Hi there! Today I have a bright card for you I made by using Kristina Werner's color inspiration no. 49. The colors are basic black, pacific point, kiwi kiss, rose red and whisper white (didn't see so many alliterations in just one sentence for a long time).

I love that Kristina chose those cheery colors (btw, the fabric looks gorgeous, doesn't it?). It matches my mood and the lovely Easter wheater around here... Here is my card for the challenge:

The flowers are from a beautiful October Afternoon design paper. Actually it's the first patterned paper I ever bought and I hadn't the heart to use it, up to now. I distressed them a bit with white ink and also crumbled them in my hands to give it a distressed look. For the finishing touch, I used my new Sakura glaze pen to add some gloss to the flower centers.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great Easter weekend!

Supplies
Stamps: PTI Polka Dot Basics
Ink: Ranger Distress tea dye, Versacolor white
Paper: October Afternoon Detours Garden Path, PTI stamper's select white, all other from stash
Other: Hero Arts white embossing powder, Sakura glaze pen, scalloped scissors, Faber-Castell pigment pen, foam dimensionals

Kristina's Color Inspiration # 48

Funny, Kristina's color picks are again very similar to Dawn McVey's last challenge. But hey, the combo looks fab! Anyhow, I wanted to make some home decoration for Easter before it's over. Lucky me, the Easter stuff in my stash matched this week's color challenge. So, no card this time - but who says color inspirations have to be about cards? ;-)
Do you like the birds on the photo? Cutest spring birds ever!! The (free!!) photoshop brushes are from B. Silvia at Graphics Illustrations.

Have a great week! Dana

Cherry on top

I had a fabulous Friday with a lot of sunshine (70°F) and a night out with my best friend for dinner and cocktails at our favorite Cuban restaurant. I haven't met him a couple of weeks and we were just chatting and having fun. During the whole day, I was eager to finish work as early as possible and I didn't let myself have even the littlest peek into blogging and scrapping world to not be a minute late... I was so excited when I visited Dawn's blog this very morning and saw I made it to the top twelve of her color challenge!!

I'm a *little* bit proud of myself :o) This is the cherry on top of a wonderful spring weekend.

Thanks everyone who stopped by and complimented on my card! Dana

P.S.: Hope your weekend is as sunny as mine :)
